Admission Arrangements
At St Matthew’s, we follow the Co-ordinated Admissions System. This means parents must complete the Common Application Form provided by their home Local Education Authority (the authority to which you pay council tax).
Year 7 Applications
To apply for a Year 7 place, parents residing within Manchester City Council’s area should access the application process through the Manchester City Council website..
If you live in another area, please contact your local authority to confirm individual deadlines and procedures.
Once all application forms are submitted, they are collated, and the information is sent to us. The Governing Body will review applications in early December. For baptised Roman Catholic children, parents will need to provide a copy of the child’s baptism certificate before this meeting.

- Letters offering places at St Matthew’s High School will be issued by Manchester Education Authority on 3rd March 2025

Once your application is processed, the details will be sent to the school for review by the Chair of Governors. If places are available in the requested year group, they will be allocated based on the admission criteria.
If no places are available, your child’s name will be added to the waiting list.
