Year 6-7 Transition

At St. Matthew’s, we believe that ensuring a smooth transition from Year 6 to Year 7 is essential for both pupils and their families. Starting a new school is an exciting yet sometimes challenging experience, and we are committed to making this process as seamless as possible. To support this, we collaborate closely with our partner primary schools, ensuring that each pupil is well-prepared and confident for their journey at St. Matthew’s.

To ensure you receive all important communications and event information about your child’s transition, please confirm your child’s place by emailing intake2026@smrchs.com. It’s important that you inform us whether you are accepting or declining the offer.

We provide lots of resources for pupils and their parents to help them prepare for transitioning to secondary school. Please see the downloads section below for more information.

Plus, to help families with uniform costs, all new Year 7 students will receive:
