St Matthew’s School Uniform
At St Matthew’s, we expect all pupils to wear the full school uniform with pride.
- Bottle Green Blazer with school badge.
- Bottle Green V-Neck. Jumper with school badge.
- White Shirt.
- School Tie.
For Boys
- Black trousers.
- Plain dark socks.
For Girls
- Tartan Skirt or black tailored trousers.
- Black short socks, black tights for colder weather.
Footwear
- Sensible Black Leather Shoes: Shoes must be entirely black with no patterns, stripes, or embellishments. Training shoes, canvas shoes, high heels, mules, or shoes with logos are unsuitable. If unsure, please contact the school for guidance.
Outerwear
- A suitable outer garment without a visible hood. Expensive or designer clothing (e.g., leather jackets, branded labels) is discouraged. Outerwear should not be worn inside the building.
School Bags
- A practical bag large enough to carry school books and A4 folders.
Standards for Uniform and Presentation
- Blazers: Must be worn at all times.
- Skirts: Regulation-length skirts must be no more than 3 inches above or below the knee. Pleats must be uniform in length around the skirt.
- Shirts: Must always be tucked in.
- Prohibited items: Jeans, leggings, tracksuit bottoms, and cords are not permitted.
- Hairstyles: Extreme styles and colors are not allowed. For clarification, please contact the school.
- Make-Up and Nails: Make-up and nail varnish (including acrylic nails) are not permitted. Pupils wearing these will be required to remove them.
- Jewellery: Limited to a pair of plain gold stud earrings (one in each earlobe) and a watch.
- Outdoor Coats: Must not be worn in classrooms or anywhere inside the building. Coats must not feature a hood.
- Headwear: Caps and hoodies are not allowed on school grounds or inside the buildings.
- Mobile Phones: Phones must not be seen or heard in school except during designated times.
- Electronics: Personal electronic devices must not be brought to school. The school is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
